VAARTA
Adivasi Development Network Charitable Trust promotes awareness about Adivasis and works with different age groups and in different fields of culture and profession. This is a team of people around the world working at different countries. ADN has worked for the growth and promotion of culture, dance and music, local weavers and artists as well as education. So this is another step in the empowerment of the youth for the right to education. Since last 9 years we have been working in various fields with different age groups, having a large team of volunteers standing with us at every event making it successful. These volunteers are from different schools and colleges of Ranchi and around. Everyone speaks about students being the future of the country and here are showing them the path of knowledge. 'VARTA' is a not just a simple counseling session delivering speech it is an interactive session with people from different fields of arts, science and commerce. They are here to guide these students towards the future prospectus of their subject and various opportunities on the way. Let’s not be in a closed box and instead of thinking out of the box let’s see what’s outside the box. There will be counselors from engineering and medical background, Management gurus, and Administrative officers and from the banking and railway sectors and many more to share what they learnt on their way to success. This will be a skill building, learning, interacting, capacity building, personality development, career options, motivational session etc. |

WORLD INDIGENOUS DAY 2015
This year the Adivasi Development Network team took an initiative to celebrate the World Indigenous Day on a large scale and bringing the different Adivasi groups together. It was an effort to reunite, to come together and celebrate. The day began with the carnival which was happening for the first time in Ranchi. A carnival of its own kind , our Carnival. A Carnival known to all is a celebration of life. It has been a mega event in many of the cities round the world in: Rio de Janerio, Brazil; Venice, Italy; Binche Carnival, Belgium; Oruro Carnival, Bolivia; Trinidad and Tobago Carnival; Notting Hill Carnival, London. Celebration for various reasons, here in Ranchi for the first time we had a Carnival which in the local language is called ‘Jatra’. On the occasion of World Indigenous Day celebrated on 9th August 2015 this celebration began with ‘Jatra’. when various tribes of the state come together to participate to showcase their culture, their musical instruments, their symbols and dance to create an aura of confidence and brotherhood. The carnival brought the richness and rhythm of the local culture on the floor. People dressed in traditional attire and in teams will parade to the Albert Ekka Chok with their instruments sang and danced, celebrating their existence. At Albert Ekka chowk was the Akhada where the groups came and danced , there was also a performance by the very well known musician Mr. Nandlal Nayak along with his group of 30 drummers. This was not all there was also the performance by the Warrior dancers which took the event to a different level. The other events were then held in Morabadi football stadium from noon which had dance performances , tradtional games and a display of the traditional symbols from various villages around Ranchi. Earlier the various tribes of the state have been celebrating the day but this is the first event to be organized on this day by Welfare Department, Government of Jharkhand. |

ABHIVYAKTI – Jharkhand Youth Festival 2015
This Jharkhand Youth Festival gave the members and team ADN another good chance to show what they have in the team. This three day event had coordinating members from various districts of the state and along with them were the team members of ADN. The team ADN gave the concept for opening and closing ceremony of the festival. There were more than 25 volunteers involved in the event which came out to be a huge success.The three days event was well organized and the ADN volunteers gave their contribution in the help desk, media and communication and various venues. The opening ceremony began with the theme song of the event which was composed by Mr. Tej Mundu, there were 50 dancers named as the ‘Warrior Dancers’ from the team who have been practicing hard for this opening act. This song was dedicated to the state of Jharkhand, the youth are coming together to sing aloud and tell the nation what a beauty, richness, strength and a long history we have. The act was very energetic the team of warrior dancers dressed very uniquely filled the venue with the very enthusiasm they have. The closing day had the Salem band performance followed by the prize distribution and concluded by the ‘Luga Show’. This time the Lugas went totally traditional, bringing on the floor the traditional attire of various tribes of the state. In total there were 13 tribes showcased on the ramp, the models were dressed in the original traditional dress and jewellery. This was the first time that on one stage there were 13 tribes dressed as originals walked the ramp. It was the walk for tradition. RAISING DAY
This event was organized on the occasion of the first foundation day of the 17 corps unit named as the Brahmastra. This act was a new approach to the vibrant and energetic dance forms followed by a Luga show. Therefore this performance is dedicated to the warriors of the state of the country who have been giving their lives so that we live in peace. Each dance form was the semi-martial art dance form depicting the various stories of wars and aggression and celebration. AAZADI 2014
A musical evening to celebrate the Independence Day. It was a celebration for the joy of freedom together with the melodious singers in the state. This stage brought a variety of singers together; there were the well known singers as well the upcoming singers and the very young singers. There was no age limit for the stage. It was on this very evening where people saw a variety on one stage i.e. the traditional, classical, contemporary and modern . The celebration started with the National anthem going further with the various artists singing the patriotic as well as traditional songs.The musicians displayed the very modern to the very traditional instruments namely : nagada, mandar, tuhila, buang etc. Supported by: Adiwasi Development Network and Pradip Sounds Date: 14th August2014. MAHILA ADHIKAR DIWAS
This events was organized by the This 45 minutes dance performance was based on the concept of “RHYTHMS OF JHARKHAND”. This was first of its own kind where 150 artists were on the ground to perform. Nine forms of dance were performed which included the festivals of the state i.e. Maghay, Sarhul, Karma, faguwa. . The artists were from different parts of the state and performed as one team. Beginning with the awakening of akhara followed by different dance forms like Paika ,Kalsha dance, Dasai dance of santhal, Manbhum chaw, firkal and rijha dance with their respective musicians, we will also have a performance of Banam, Buang , Ghanta, flute ,tohila, mandar, dhol and nagara by the musicians, who showcased their beautiful and enigmatic music to viewers and listeners. This events was organized by Department of Art, Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs , Government of Jharkhand. This event started with a three day workshop at Kala Bhawa, Khelgaon, Ranchi. LUGA Fashion Show fro charity

The Luga Fashion Show shows the colors, beauty and art of magnificent Jharkhand, presented in clothing form. The collection bridges the gap between traditional and modern attire by using traditional design inspired by Kovar, Sohrai and Oraon Bhitichitra, Paitkar and Dokra using them with modern cuts. ABHIVYAKTI – Jharkhand Youth Festival 2014
This youth festival was an initiative by the Government of Jharkhand to connect the youth of the state and give them a platform to showcase their talents. The three day festival was inaugurated by Honorable Chief Minister Hemant Soren. There were various theater events, dance competition which included the classical, folk/tribal dance and contemporary dance. There was the literary event- Extempore, fine arts event comprised of on spot painting and clay modeling. There was also the music event which was again categorized into classical, folk/tribal and contemporary. The festival also included the photography competition, film show, rock show and Luga fashion show. A team of 30 volunteers participated in the 'LUGA Fashion Show' which was appretiated by all. ADN is event coordinator for the New Year Jatra. This will be an occasion to
say together Good Bye to 2011 and give a grand welcome to 2012 .While
celebrating New Year Jatra event will promote Regional Culture and Tradition
among the younger generation. This event will primarily contain Traditional Fusion
Rock Performance, Ethnic Fashion Show, Ethnic Food Fest, Traditional Instrument,
Folk Dance, Traditional Art and Folk song performances by artists and youths of
the region.
The funds raised in this event will be utilized for sponsoring potential youths and women in their various endeavors. ADN, in this one year, has supported thirty five students to attain education, sixteen women to receive weaving training, and Kokrajhar Assam victims in receiving relief from world over. Furthermore, ADN targets to establish Artist Centre in the city in coming years for the region’s indigenous communities, which will be a precious infrastructure for generation to come and a common platform to generate employment for local people. Second Annual Celebration of Indigenous Peoples Day - 2011Johar!
